The Two Wooden Soldiers in 'Little Hans Andersen' at the Adelphi Theatre.
The Tatler , December 30, 1903. "Mr. Basil Hood has set the clockwork of his wooden soldiers going again in 'Little Hans Andersen', which is being played for matinées at the Adelphi. The play is an olla podrida of Hans Andersen's fairy stories joined togehter with the greatest skill. I enjoyed it as much as any child in the house, and i would conjure you not to miss it. Miss Louie Pounds and miss Agnes Fraser are princessees, Mr. Passmore and our old friend, mr. Richard Temple, are kings. Miss Brandram, happily returned, is a fairy queen, Mr. Evett is the princely swineherd, and Mr. Lytton is delightful as the real soldier. The wooden soldiers with clockwork in their tummies are as funny as ever."
