St. Emeran, Ratisbon.
My dear Andersen,
I send you a page of the Preface to my new translation of your Märchen, to ask you if you mind what I have there said, and to know if what I have there related is correct. If not, be so good as to tell me, and as soon as you can. - In the Preface, which is rather long, and which I think will please you I have mentioned the anecdote you wrote me about the children in Heriot's Hospital. You have no objection, have you?
Have you had my two last letters?
Pray let me have an answer about the Preface soon. - I hope you are well.
Yours faithfully and sincerely,
Oct. 26 1847
