Riverside, Cambridge, Mass. 30 September 1869
My dear Friend,
I was very much pleased the other day at receiving the copies of Copenhagen journals containing accounts of the festival in your honour. Would that I had been there! I write now only to enclose a draft on London £14-12/- in payment of your last two stories - "What happened to the Thistle" and "Chicken Grethe's Family." I trust you will find this remittance satisfactory. Messrs. Hurd & Houghton send with it their greeting.
Believe me, always sincerely yours,
HORACE E. SCUDDER
