Still pictures have often proved to be stumbling-blocks for television producers, but this week they have been used on our screeens with much greater success than usual. Sunday's film about the life of hans Andersen, amde by the Danish Government, was at least 60 per cent made up of 'still' pictures, most of them line drawings which could very easily have made thoroughly borting viewing. But here they were used in suc profusion - tough carefully controlled - that often we were given the sense of motion. The Bulletin, 6 April 1955.
