Scandinavian dances Given. hans Andersen Fete in Elysian Park Draws 2500 Children. Los Angeles Times, Saturday Morning May 6, 1939. The program was made possible for children of the fourth, fifth and sixth grades of 16 elementary schools near the downtown section of the city, by the Filippa Pollia Foundation. For the purpose of making children happy, the foundation fund was established two years ago by Dr. Joseph Pollia in memory of his little daughter, Filippa, who died when only 8 years of age.
