2nd April 1852. Lion Hotel, Rhayader.

Dear Sir,

I received your Letter, and as Summer is approaching renew my invitation, and shonld you desire to pay me a visit I can only expressthe pleasure I shall feel in making your sojoum as pleasant as possible. In case you come I think Hamburg is your best route and so across to Hull, but this is an after matter when you have informed me at what period of the summer you can come, in case your literary engagements permit a visit to England this year. I am just now travelling in Wales along the banks of the river Wye through beautiful scenery, such as might well inspire the Poet's pen or pencil to many a pleasing Lay. I have sent you one or two newspapers this winter which I thought you might like to see - when you write address to me as before "St. Leonards, Bridgnorth, Shropshire".

Believe me to remain, very truly yours

Hubert Smith
